Sterile, single-use technique

Services
Ear piercing in a pediatric office is a calmer, safer experience than at a kiosk — sterile equipment, medical-grade hypoallergenic earrings, and a team that knows how to make kids comfortable. We pierce kids of all ages, including babies once they’ve had their first round of vaccines.

Care We Provide
Everything that touches your child is single-use and sterile. The earrings come pre-loaded in a sealed cartridge.
Medical-grade stainless steel or titanium studs come with the visit — no nickel, no allergy concerns for most kids.
When possible, we pierce both ears simultaneously — especially helpful for babies and toddlers who don’t want a second go.
Cleaning routine, what’s normal, what’s not — written instructions you can take home in English or Spanish.
Redness, swelling, embedded earring, or anything that doesn’t look right — call us. We can usually help over the phone or with a quick visit.
We’re used to little ears, anxious kids, and parents who want this done well. Calm room, gentle hands.
Come Prepared
A few small things ahead of the visit help us spend more time on your child — and less on paperwork.
FAQs
Many families wait until their baby has had the first round of vaccines (around 4 months) so the immune system is more prepared. Older kids can be any age — we’ve pierced everyone from babies to teens. Call us with your specific situation.
There’s a quick pinch, then it’s done. Most kids cry briefly and recover quickly — especially when both ears are done at the same time. We can use a topical numbing cream on request to take the edge off.
Medical-grade stainless steel or titanium studs — both hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. The earrings come pre-loaded in a sterile, single-use cartridge.
Lobe piercings usually heal in 4 to 6 weeks. Keep the starter earrings in for at least 6 weeks (longer if there’s any irritation). Then they can be changed to other earrings.
Clean gently twice a day with saline or the solution we provide. Avoid pools, hot tubs, and tight hair products that catch on the earring. Don’t twist the earring — that used to be standard advice but actually slows healing. Written aftercare goes home with you.
Call us. Mild redness in the first few days is normal. Worsening redness, swelling, drainage, fever, or an earring that’s embedded in the ear are all reasons to be seen — call and we’ll help.
